Beginner with learning curve – Easy to use!, June 20, 2007

Bike shop – I was absolutely nothing of SPD pedals and / or footwear, the first couple I knew bought from my LBS. If you fall into this same category, I suggest you do the same. Yes … the price will be higher. But it will take time to make sure they are correct.

It’s called “customer service”. After finding shoes that are comfortable and properly, the next step for the seller, was to install the studs and put my bike on a trainer. He made sure that the tunnels were deadthe balls of my feet. He also made sure that I could easily and quickly in and out of clips! Once again … is the customer service. I have been to the coach a good 15 to 20 minutes doing nothing, but the practice. Yeah … I know, this review is not so much on the pedals, as it is to understand the physics of them. I would suggest NOT buying shoes on the Internet, why do not you TRY B4 buying.

Now that I understand everything much better – yes – I came to Amazon.com for a second pair at a much lowerPrices. But again, I repeat, if you are new to this type of pedals and / or shoes – is the first LBS.

I have a common set of M520L is happy in my bike and my hybrid bike-S, and in general have. They also considered the first of several hundred miles, and after a while ‘playing with the tension in the clip are quite comfortable and unloading.

My only real problem with the pedals that click and pop when you pull up is very prone to them. There is a small problem and has never led to any real problem, but it is a nuisance. They areotherwise solid.

I’m buying a high-end set of SPD pedals for my project bike racing, and I hope that this problem will not transfer. Overall it is a much less disturbing and – for the price – is actually a non-issue.

I am new to clipless pedals and hesitated for a set. Not only that I was expecting a huge learning curve with a few accidents, but I was not even aware of what to look for. I read about 80% of the reviews here before I finally decided to take the M520 pedals, especially since this was my first time in clipping

I was amazed at how small pedals to other models I saw in the shop than surprised. I ended up implementing this on my Specialized hybrid. I mostly rideLimestone gravel paths, roads, and occasionally go to work. These are very useful, and I’ve noticed the increased speed and efficiency. Clipping in / out is easy and I have no need to increase the tension on the springs, I installed out of the box as it is. I do not replace the need for tunnels. I am sure that I wear, rather than a tunnel through a lot. Maintenance and cleaning is easy. I use an old toothbrush and a can of compressed air to removeBuild up any dirt.

Side note for beginners:
Maybe you want to loosen the tension a bit ‘to get an idea of clipping in / out. I found out the hard way. After I removed my foot on the pedal and it should not take it. I have not heard the “click” when it was cut and clip-time. oO

Overall I am very satisfied with the SPD-M520 pedals. And if you’re new to clipless pedals, this will make a very good number for beginners.
